TUESDAY RECIPES: KATHARINE HEPBURN'S BROWNIES

"This recipe first appeared in the New York Times on July 6, 2003. In the letter attached to the submitted recipe was this story. Heather Henderson, Katharine’s neighbor, turned in the recipe. She had spend some time getting to know Katherine over a series of casual meetings after her mother had asked Katharine to convince her daughter to stay in school when Heather was threatening to leave. One day, Heather’s father had heard that Katharine had been in a car accident and was recovering at home. They stopped by her house with a batch of brownies. Hepburn, always speaking her mind, said “Too much flour! And don’t overbake them! They should be moist not cakey!” She gave her brownie recipe to Heather’s father on a scribbled note and the rest is history.!"
